Billy Howard took his passion for racing and engines and turned it into a business in 1987. He built custom race sleds and race car engines and repaired foreign cars in his first garage. Later, in 1992 Billy and wife Barb purchased the already existing Ski-Doo and Toro Wheelhorse Tractor dealership from E.E. Tucker.

In 1994 the addition of Kubota 4-wheel drive tractors, backhoes, and implements proved to be a huge asset. Through tremendous growth Howard's became one of the largest and most reputable snowmobile and equipment dealers in the Northeastern U.S.

In 1999 Billy Howard picked up Arctic Cat snowmobiles which he has been selling and racing since. The sale of Arctic Cat snowmobiles has proven to be a big hit to his customers and the people in the area.

On board at Howard's is Doug Blackwell, our customer service manager and head of warranty claims. Doug also fills in on sales as needed! Doug has been with Howard's since 1992 and knows the value of keeping the customers satisfied and taking care of their needs promptly and professionally!

Along with Billy in the shop area for Howard's service department are Jimmy Mccoy and Henry Watson. The shop technicians are factory trained on all the products and attend update schools year round. All are doing a super job of assembling new units and making repairs to factory specs—sometimes better than factory—and in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Howard's, through customer service and satisfaction with competitive deals on the showroom floor, has gone from retailing $80,000 worth of equipment to over $4,500,000 retailed annually.

Team Howard's racing has been very successful out on the tracks, taking several first place wins at the Haydays World Cup of Grass as well as at other events. Racing several different sleds and entering many different classes Team Howard's is very competitive against the other teams.

To make all of the racing possible Billy purchased a second shop to be used as his race shop. This shop is used as a place for Billy to design and modify engines, and chassis for his trail and race sleds. Along with the shop Billy has an area used for testing and tuning, with a 500 ft, 1,000 ft, and 1,500 ft track. A clay starting line is there so the test track is just like a racetrack.
